IT'S TIME FOR A MEDIA DETOX - GROUP PROJECT
BRIEF
To take individual research on topics chosen by each team member and combine our knowledge to create an exhibition piece.
PROJECT APPROACH
We took the areas researched; makeup, chrome, bags and Go Go boots and found an overarching theme of empowerment to take forward.
PROJECT RESULT
It’s time for a media detox focused on the ideologies of objectification within widespread media. Exposing text behind spiteful tabloids highlights the objectification and sexualisation of women in an industry lacking in change.
PROJECT LEARNING
As our first piece utilising space as an outcome we worked through new technical obstacles successfully as a team. Pushing away from digital design and into craft challenged, but broadened our skills.
